Flea Carnival @ Spa Boutique, 281007

Apologies for the recent lack of updates. Real-life matters beckoned and I had to answer. Hopefully, I will be able to attend some of the events that are posted on Fashion is Spinach and Fashion Nation. That said, many thanks to L. for being a good friend and making the effort to attend the recent flea at Spa Boutique for TCP. The following photos and commentary are by L.. Enjoy!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought the flea signage was creatively mounted :p

The flea carnival was set in a very quaint garden-resort setting with beautiful lil huts in the midst of vegetation that flanked a bustling Orchard Road. The atmosphere was tranquil and almost zen, if one ignored the bargain capitalism that quietly hummed in the background.

A hum, because inspite of the stalls selling pretty cool merchandise, there was a thin crowd that milled around. Nevermind though, because that means more bargains for me!

I always say; the other draw of a good flea is the good people. Every one I've been to has greeted me with gorgeous people with equally gorgeous personalities. Thanks everybody for being such a sport, despite the dampness from the heavy downpour.

Always nice to see people comfortable. :D

Who doesn't love pringles?

Say "Hello!" to Dottie and Stephie from Fashion Nation! I love their shoes.

Funny flea-goers doing what they do best - bargain, chatter, and do the let's-see-if-this-fits boogie routine. The lady in white was selling that lovely song&kelly top for only $20 :O!

Wardrobe Raids, St James Power Station, 071007

Evelyn & Natalie
"There was this girl who told us she bought a second-hand monogram LV bag from a vendor behind us for $200. We are selling ours for $80. Erm, are we asking for too little?"
The bag in question is the yellow Epi leather Petit Noé beside Evelyn.)

"No, I didn't make the dress. I bought it at Black Clover, Far East. I think it's opened by an ex-editor of CLEO."

SeptFest Gig, Girls > Boys, 220907

Audrey
"I got these frames from a shop near NAFA. They are imported, one of a kind and were priced at $90?"

How much do I love her glasses? Far too much. In case anyone else needs a pair of funky frames at an affordable price, this is the place to go: 122, middle road #01-18,Midlink Plaza

Many thanks to Audrey for emailing the address!

"When I made the brooch, the paper clips swung all over the place and was often lop-sided. So I added the beads to balance them out. The pin balanced out, but the clips still swung all over the place. So I added the knots to limit the amount of space for movement... The clips still swing all over the place."

Honestly, I prefer the messy, clips-all-over-the-place look her brooch had when I first saw it. Nevertheless, the brooch has a tongue-in-cheek feel to it.
